This series was written in a season of grief and transition for our congregation. Though it can
be applicable for other seasons, it is designed with grief at its heart, and is a stewardship series
that tends to a church in grief: pastoral, hopeful, tender, merciful, and hopefully healing. For us,
the season began on All Saints Day, which was appropriate for the tone of the series and
temperature of the congregation we serve. Feel free, of course, to adapt the series to suit your
own congregation’s context and situation.
